Wascal Wabbits Rabbitry

A Barn of Show & Pet Rabbits: Mini Rex, Lionhead, Holland Lop, Dutch, Netherland Dwarf, and Polish

Hey there all you rabbit people, we are glad  you stopped by.

We are a relatively new Rabbitary, we started in April, my daughter wanted a rabbit for her birthday, then the twins said they wanted rabbits too, next thing you know

Anyway we now breed and show 6 Breeds of rabbits and several varieties. The following pages will introduce you to our varied herd, and us, as well as allowing you to help us make this site better.

As a Rabbitary we breed mainly rabbits for Showing but inevitably  most become pets, either because of my 3 teenagers or my wife falls in love with them, and many find good homes  through various Pet Stores we sale to. But you can buy some here also obtaining a pedigree with yours. Then there are the ones that folks buy them, lets say for "livestock"

I hope you enjoy your visit. Here is a photo of our little Dott  she has just won her first leg towards being a Grand Champion Mini Rex

How it all started

When we first started, My daughter asked for a rabbit for her birthday, then my twin son's age 14 said they wanted rabbits also. We bought 3, at a farm center, well even before we got home 1 died then the next morning another was dead. then we met the lady who sold us our first Mini Rex's ( that were not ), she said she sold them for show, so the kids signed up for Comanche County 4H, and we showed them finding the were not Mini Rex's. We also bought nice Broken Tort Holland Lop we called Sugar and boy she was just a little aggressive. My daughter Rebekah, who is also our in house Vet (age 13) had raised a little cottontail in her room, that our neighbors had caught at about 10-14 days old, another neighbor's dog had killed its siblings and mother, well anyway after it started eating pellets and greens and such we put him in with Sugar with a box, next thing you know she had pulled out belly fur and built up that box as a nest for him.after that Sugar really mellowed out. several months later we had a dog get in the Rabbitary and killed both Sugar and Cotton, the Cottontail here a few Pics of him

Cotton lives strongly in our memories!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Then we decided well we might as well buy some real show quality rabbits and so here we are!!
